Led by saxophonist David Serpan and trombonist Henry Newquist, Bluescreen is a small jazz ensemble made up of local musicians excited to bring the tradition of improvised music to their hometown of Danville and the surrounding community. Both musicians study Jazz Performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio. David is studying under 2024 NEA Jazz Master Gary Bartz and Henry is studying under five-time Grammy Award-winning trombonist and composer Jay Ashby. Bluescreen delivers a unique experience combining jazz, swing, blues, funk, bossa nova, and original music. Whether as an intimate 2-piece or larger 5-piece ensemble, Bluescreen will surely get toes tappin' and fingers snappin’ at your restaurant, venue, or private event!
